Sell products to agents
Retail and food and beverage merchants hand their products to AI channels, customers check out inside their own AI, and you fulfill the order.
PlannedNot implemented, and there is no launch date. This page describes the direction only and has no code.
This page is written for merchants and explains what we plan to do.
What we plan to do
A retail or food and beverage merchant gives SOP its products, prices and stock; SOP turns them into data AI channels can read; the customer confirms and pays inside their own AI; and the order to fulfill goes to the merchant.
There is currently no product listing, checkout or order feature. The flow here is a plan, and the actual approach and timing may change.
Planned flow
Steps
- Seller → SOP: Shares products, prices and stock
- SOP → Agent: Makes the catalog available to AI channels
- Customer → Agent: Asks to buy
- Agent → SOP: Creates a checkout
- SOP → Agent: Totals, shipping and tax
- Customer → Agent: Confirms and approves payment
- Agent → SOP: Completes checkout with a credential
- SOP → Seller: Order to fulfill
The four planned stages
| Stage | What we plan | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Product catalog | The merchant provides products, prices and stock; SOP prepares them for AI channels | Planned |
| Checkout | The agent creates a checkout and gets totals, shipping and tax; the customer confirms | Planned |
| Payment | The agent completes checkout with a payment credential the customer approved | Planned |
| Orders | The order to fulfill is handed to the merchant | Planned |
